Dr. Carqueville attended medical school at Rush University Medical Center and completed her residency in Dermatology at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County in Chicago, where she was elected Chief Resident. While completing a dermatopathology fellowship at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, she was also mentored by one of the country’s most respected cosmetic dermatologists in Hollywood, California. In addition to this extensive training, and after years of practicing in Chicago, Dr. Carqueville completed a one-year fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery for skin cancer and facial reconstruction in Spokane, Washington at the Chesnut Institute of Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery. Today, Dr. Carqueville is triple board certified. Her passion for her patients continues to drive Dr. Carqueville to keep learning new techniques to bring to her practice.

Dr. Carqueville enjoys treating patients of all ages for medical and surgical dermatology. Her advanced training and experience ensure every patient receives top-quality treatment at every visit. Using Mohs micrographic surgical techniques, Dr. Carqueville treats skin cancer including basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma and malignant melanoma. She is experienced in performing acne scar surgery, earlobe repair, and lipoma and cyst removal. 

With a specialty in surgical and cosmetic dermatology, Dr. Carqueville is an expert in the assessment and treatment of the aging face and skin. She is highly skilled in treating facial wrinkles and volume loss with injectable fillers, neurotoxins, and fat transfer, and is a leader in her field for the latest laser treatment methods for pigmentation, skin texture, and tightening. From gentle exfoliators to lasers, micro needling, and other surgical treatments—Dr. Carqueville’s individualized care keeps her patients’ skin looking fresh and feeling healthy. 

Dr. Carqueville currently has an academic appointment as a Clinical Instructor at Stroger Hospital of Cook County in the Division of Dermatology. Dr. Carqueville is a published, peer-reviewed author and invited speaker at various dermatologic professional association meetings around the world. She is also conversationally fluent in Spanish.

Dr. Carqueville has been selected by Castle Connolly as a Top Doctor in Dermatology and other distinctions since 2020. She has also been named the Best Cosmetic Dermatologist in Chicago by Better Magazine every year since 2018.

When she is not treating patients, speaking at events, or instructing medical students and residents, Dr. Carqueville enjoys spending time with her family, surfing, skiing, sculpting, and traveling.

Education & Training

Dr. Carqueville received her undergraduate degree from Washington University, graduating with honors, and attended medical school at Rush University Medical Center. She completed her residency in dermatology at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where she was elected Chief Resident. Following her residency, Dr. Carqueville simultaneously attended the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA for a fellowship in dermatopathology while also receiving mentorship from one of the country’s most respected cosmetic dermatologists in Hollywood.  She has also completed a one-year fellowship in advanced dermatologic surgical training on Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery, reconstruction, and advanced cosmetics in Spokane, Washington. 

Prior to founding the Derm Institute of Chicago, Dr. Carqueville was a dermatologist and dermatopathologist at The Skin Care Center in Chicago. She currently has an academic appointment as a Clinical Instructor at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County in the Division of Dermatology. Dr. Carqueville is a published, peer-reviewed author and invited speaker at various dermatologic professional association meetings around the world. She is also conversationally fluent in Spanish.
