Jennifer Shastry, MD
Board-Certified Dermatologist
Jennifer Shastry, MD is a board-certified dermatologist and Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. She graduated summa cum laude from Northwestern University with a bachelor’s degree in political science before earning her medical degree from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine in 2016. During medical school, she was elected to both the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and the Gold Humanism Honor Society in recognition of her academic achievements and commitment to compassionate care in medicine.
Dr. Shastry completed her dermatology residency at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in 2020, where she served as Chief Resident during her final year. Following residency, she joined the faculty at Northwestern University as an Assistant Professor of Dermatology, where she spent six years caring for patients and educating medical students and dermatology residents.
Dr. Shastry has a particular clinical and research interest in the intersection of dermatology and rheumatology, with a focus on autoimmune skin diseases. During her time at Northwestern, she founded a multidisciplinary clinic that brought together dermatology and rheumatology expertise to provide comprehensive care for patients with complex autoimmune skin conditions.
She has co-authored numerous scientific publications and has delivered lectures and presentations to medical professionals in dermatology and other medical specialties. Her expertise in dermatology has also been featured in television, online, and print media on a variety of dermatologic topics.
Dr. Shastry is passionate about providing thoughtful, evidence-based, and compassionate care while helping patients better understand their skin conditions and treatment options. She enjoys developing longitudinal relationships with patients and caring for individuals of all ages.
Outside of work, Dr. Shastry enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, running, and reading her next book club selection
