Dr. Pamela Scheinman brings more than three decades of clinical experience, empathy, and determination to solve each patient’s unique problem.

Dr. Scheinman is a Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude graduate of Brandeis University and received her medical degree from Mt. Sinai Medical Center, NY. She completed her dermatology residency in Rochester, NY, where she was chief resident. She was a Professor of Dermatology at Tufts Medical Center, Boston, MA where she practiced for 21 years and founded and directed their Contact Dermatitis and Occupational Dermatology Unit. After joining the faculty of Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston, MA, in 2014, Dr. Scheinman established and directed their Contact Dermatitis and Occupational Dermatology Program and Fellowship. She was Associate Professor of Dermatology at Harvard Medical School until May 2021. Dr. Scheinman left Boston in May 2021 to join her family in Chicago.

Dr. Scheinman has been an active participant in various committees of the American Contact Dermatitis Society (ACDS) including the ACDS Mentoring and Mid-Career Awards, ACDS Research and Development Committee, as well as the Fisher Award and ACDS Lectureship. She has been elected twice to its Board of Directors and served as Vice President. She currently is co-section editor of the occupational dermatology section of the Dermatitis journal.

In her greater than 30-year tertiary-referral clinical practice, Dr. Scheinman has evaluated and treated thousands of patients with recalcitrant skin rashes. She has mentored hundreds of medical students, residents and fellows and authored many publications. Dr. Scheinman has been selected by Castle Connolly as a Top Doctor, Regional Top Doctor, and an Exceptional Woman in Medicine many times. Dr. Scheinman has been an invited speaker nationally and internationally and has been interviewed on TV, radio, and quoted in print media in reference to various contact dermatitis topics.


Dr. Scheinman has always enjoyed solving mysteries. She listens intently to all clues her patients present with their histories and physical exams, and then uses patch test data from each patient to determine if allergens are contributing to their symptoms.


She enjoys understanding her patients skin journey and finding solutions for problem areas, particularly pinpointing any allergens that may be eliminated to help significantly improve their skin.
